Three views

The practice, its accountant and its MSO, working from one set of records.

Practice OS has three sign-ins and one set of books behind them. The practice owner, the accounting firm and the MSO each open their own view of the same records - the same document request, the same close, the same question thread - so nothing is copied between them and nothing drifts.

What each view is for.

Each view has its own address. A signed-in account lands on the view its role allows; the links below go straight to each one.

The practice

The owner's view, and the one that decides who else gets in.

  • The operating dashboard: revenue, collections, A/R, payor performance, expenses and statements
  • The Accounting tab: what the firm needs from you, its questions, estimated tax payments, the tax-savings opportunities the firm has approved, filings, notices and the monthly close
  • Counterparties: who can see your books and what they can see, with the controls to invite, approve or end access
  • Your chart of accounts as your firm has mapped it, read-only

The accounting firm

One workspace for every client practice.

  • A client roster, a cross-client document queue and a deadline calendar
  • Per client: documents, the monthly close, the tax desk, tax-savings review, questions, the chart-of-accounts mapping and the practice's own dashboard, de-identified
  • Tax-savings drafts stay with the firm until it approves them, and the approver's name travels with each one
  • Add a new client practice, or ask for access to one already on the platform

The MSO

Every member practice on the same basis.

  • A portfolio with one row per member practice - charges, receipts, open A/R, days in A/R, net collection, expenses and payroll burden - with a 12-month trend
  • Readiness: how far each practice is toward standardized books
  • Compare: member practices side by side, with costs read off one standard chart of accounts, so ledgers with no shared account names still line up
  • Members: each practice's BAA status, which decides whether the MSO sees patient-level figures

How the three connect.

Any side can start the connection, and the practice always has the last word.

  1. A practice invites its accounting firm, or grants its MSO a view, from its Counterparties screen.
  2. A firm adds a new client practice - the owner receives the invitation and owns the practice on accepting it - or asks for access to a practice already on the platform by its Practice OS ID.
  3. An MSO invites a member practice, or asks for access to one the same way.
  4. Whichever side starts it, the practice approves it. The invitation says who is asking, what they will see and what they will not, before anyone signs in, and the link expires after seven days.

Who sees what.

The practice

Everything in its own books. It signs its own agreements - its accounting firm cannot sign a Business Associate Agreement on its behalf - and it can end any connection from Counterparties.

The accounting firm

Monthly financials, the payroll register, A/R aging, the close, requests and the tax desk. Never patient names, dates of birth, dates of service, diagnosis codes, or any figure built from fewer than 11 patients.

The MSO

Operating figures from the start. Patient-level figures only after the practice records a Business Associate Agreement with the MSO, which the practice can withdraw at any time.

Why each practice makes the next one easier.

An accounting firm serves many practices, and an MSO serves more. When a practice brings its firm onto Practice OS, the firm can bring its other clients the same way; when a firm or an MSO adds a practice, that practice starts on the free Practice Portal with the relationship already in place.

None of these connections costs anything. A firm that a practice invites gets its first three client workspaces free, and inviting, approving or adding a counterparty is never a line on anyone's bill - you pay for your own scale, never for adding a counterparty.

How pricing works →

A guided tour in every view.

Once signed in, the sidebar carries a "Guided tour" of the view you are on, and a "Full system tour" that walks the practice, the firm and the MSO in order.

The full tour skips any view your account cannot open and says who can, so a practice owner sees the practice leg and an accountant sees the firm leg. The quickest way to see all three is a demo.
